The next step for me was to compose the music of the song. I sat with my guitar in my room for a few days and played the chords I planned to use over and over. I worked on the Am scale due to the fact that the key of my song is in Am. By playing the scales and the notes used in the chords Am, G, F and C helped me have a better earing of the song and decided if changing the chords or not. I decided to keep these chords and to start working on arpegius and getting familiar with the sound of the notes.
After practising on the guitar, I searched up the chords’ shapes to play on the piano. I then used my brainstorms to write lyrics. I played the chords over and over and created a melody I wanted to sing. I tried to put the lyrics on the melody in order to have a first overall idea. I met with my expert in order to make sure I was on the right track. She helped me get ideas for the melody.
Later on I practised, practised the song and changed many times melodies. Here is a link to a process video I made showing the overall process of composing the song because it is hard to express on paper the way I did get ot a final product.

Recording the final song
Content: This date was the planned date to record in a studio. Recording in a studio was a challenging situation due to the cost and the complicated time tables of availability in the studios. Therefore, with the help of Lara, we decided to record in my room with her professional material. She brought all the material. We were able to record the guitar, and the vocals in. We used a professional software called Logic Pro which is a professional version of GarageBand. We took 2 hours to record everything. We then created an online beat to give texture to the song. Underneath is a picture of the song project on the computer. The song was recorded and I was ready to create a plan for the music video of the song. Underneath is a video of me recording the song.
(initial song )
This has been added after the entry was completed. The song we recorded was bad quality due to the fact that there was problem with the software while recording. We reschedule a date to record the song over again. After listening to the first try, I got feedback from an expert that is part of a band i am in. He told me to make sure the drums were more in the background and to change the sound of the guitar to acoustic. The second recording was successful. (Please refer to the video on top for the video of the recordings)
Everyday I walk this halls and I fake,
I pretend everything is okay but deep inside I’m breaking
— Instrumental break
Am G
I don’t know why you call me names I wasn’t that open anyway,
F C
You spun my silence into lies and made me feel ashamed.
Am G
Didn’t anybody ever, Ever teach you
F C
To keep your hand to yourself
They call me her, they call me that girl, they call me slut
they call me anything you want, everything you made up
They call me her, they call me that girl, they call me slut
they call me anything you want, everything you made up
F G Am C
And it’s hard to breath, and it’s hard to leave and it’s hard to not cry
F G Am C
And it’s hard to smile and it’s hard to fake all that you feel inside
F G Am C
It’s hard, it’s hard
F G Am C
it’s hard, it’s hard
— Instrumental break (Am, G, F, C)
As I lay there, staring at the celling,
I try to put together my mistakes
I hope I’ll wake up in the morning
not having to convince myself Everything will be okay
They call me her, They call me that girl, they call me slut
they call me anything you want, everything you made up
They call me her, they call me that girl, they call me slut
they call me anything you want, everything you made up
And it’s hard to breath, and it’s hard to leave and it’s hard to not cry
And it’s hard to smile and it’s hard to fake all that you feel inside
It’s hard, it’s hard
it’s hard, it’s hard
